Hallo everybody! First of all, sorry for writing in english... Althought I'm learning german since some months, by now is not possible for me to write in your language :conf/ I hope that all of you can understand me in english (what is not perfect neither, haha)

Ok, what I really want to say is that I'm very very happy of seeing that people likes my work :)) I'll try to explain: when you are the 'father' of your creation, and you see it growing every day, is easy to loss objectivity about the real quality of the work. But your appreciations has given me more enthusiasm to still making it as good as I can. Therefore, thank you :)

Also, I would like to take this opportunity to clarify some details about the project:

- When finished, the console must be fully functional. If nothing goes wrong :D

- The lid of the console will be normally attached to the console, and will open and close as usual. In some pictures it appears dismounted just due to its work in progress status.

- There are no plans to apply a top coat of paint, in order to keep (and not cover) the metallic finish of the city. Only small details will be painted (windows that glow in the dark, maybe some roofs. I have to try it an see how it looks ?( )

- Due to surprising* small scale of the model, is not possible for me to create and attach some characters of the video game on the model. However, I'm planning to try to put a 'nanometrical' Cloud standing next to train at train station located at sector 1. Well, actually that 'Cloud' will be something like a little bit big speck of dust, painted with yellow color :D

Ok, time to continue working!! Thanks again, und auf wiedersehen!!

* Everything is incredibly small in the model. More than one part, after done, had to be remade because it was so 'big' (not enough small :confused/ )

EDIT: The model is made with a 50:50 mix of real aluminium powder and synthetic resins. Technically is half metallic :]

Oh my god!
I never thought you would show up here in person - but since you are reading this, I just wanted to tell you again how amazing your work is! :D
May I ask...how did you get the idea for this project?

And damn! If it´s fully functional at the end when being finished...that...that would be the most amazing PS ever - no kidding here!

Please, keep up the great work!
Seeing what you´re doing is really inspiring! ' _____ '

Hey! is actually emotive for me to see that you found my work so interesting. Of course, I will be happy to answer anything you want to know :))

One day I found a news article on a technology related newspage. The article was about "console modding", and saw some great works of an artist called Vadu Amka.

That impressed me, and I thought that when I was little, my crafts at school used to be, frankly, at a higher level than that of my colleagues. But that was it. I have no artistic training as such. However I've always been good at drawing, and I'm pretty good with my hands, along with a patient and persevering person.

Haha, I'm speaking too highly of myself :P

The point is that at that time thought that with the proper preliminary investigation, I might do something similar to those wonderful works.
The next logical step was to choose a model. And that happened surprisingly fast, I think not even shuffled other options. Midgar on a PlayStation. I loved the idea. And I found it workable. I would only need to learn about a lot of different disciplines, patience, a steady hand, and a huge amount of time :D

As a curiosity, and after sanding the console and fill plastic dust throughout the house, my second step was to build a "3D sketch" on the console, in order to see how they fit and also looking for possible problems that may be unsolvable.

I keep some pictures of it :D Is not very accurate :P

Having fulfilled its function, this 'Midgar' was completely destroyed by a meteorite made of leftover modelling clay :D

Thank you so much for providing me with the pictures!
It´s amazing to see how this started out, since the Pictures posted at the head of this news-article look so advanced and almost-finished already, it´s so hard to believe that...well...it started out with only a bunch of clay for seeing how it could work out :D

May I ask three more questions?
(If I am bothering you, just tell me and I´ll gladly shut up, haha! :D )
Can you estimate how many hours you have already spent on it?
And how many more hours will be needed for finishing? :)

And do you plan on making more projects, similar to this - only with other game-motives? :jumping)

Hallo nochmal!

Don't worry for make questions, I'm really happy to answer :P

@WestWindWalker:

I did not count the hours, but I can tell you that it's been about 8 months since I started working on the project, working around 2 hours at day, not every day. I hope to finish it in around 2 more weeks.

Yes! The last few days, and thanks to the encouragement I receive from people like you, I am considering the option of making more jobs of similar themes, with other models that are also very attractive to me. "Jenova Doll" may be the next PlayStation mod. I find it challenging but achievable. And I think I will learn a lot. However, there is a decision that I must take, before start making another similar investment in time and money. I am thinking alot of things these days...

@Hope:

I will start with your last question, because it is closely related to the previous question, made by WestWindWalker.
Today, total spending on tools and materials, has far surpassed the 400 euros. And it's not over. This is because many of the tools and materials are very expensive, but especially the high quality "platinum silicone rubber" I used to get the best possible results when applying the "cold casting" technique, that is necessary to produce the parts of the miniature with real metal finish. That thing is crazy expensive, and is spent in industrial quantities when making the parts.

In the other hand, when finished, I will keep the tools and many remainings of consumible products. It would be a shame not to use them in another project :D

But in any case it is a lot of money. And if I will consider dedicate myself to this works that I love to do, I think I'll have to think seriously on recover the investments...
Let's see :)

Next answers: Thanks! :] Nope, this is my very first project. I have not done anything like this in my life.

Yes! I'm implementing two types of light simultaneously: Glow-in-the-Dark paint to some elements (in two different colors, green and white), and LED light feeding an installation of optical fiber. I also will use two LEDs in two different colors, again white (for the "focus" that the city has located on the inner and outer walls) and green (to create an ghostly effect of "green light" under the Shinra Tower and other buildings.

@WestWindWalker: Haha, don't worry, clearly was a typing mistake ;)
