We have confirmed an issue where if a player installs the FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Test client after directly assigning the root directory of a drive as the target location for the "My Documents" folder, the initial version update process will fail.
If you have experienced this issue, please change the location where the files are stored in the "My Documents" folder to perform the version update as normal. If you wish to change the target location of your "My Documents" folder, please follow the steps listed below.
Example:
"e:" = Version Update fails
"e:\home" = Version Update does not fail
- How to perform the change on Windows XP 1. "Start" → right click the "My Documents" folder.
2. Select "Properties."
3. Select the "Target" tab.
4. Change the "Target folder location" and select the "OK" button.
